Dr. Lalit Verma

Dr. Lalit Verma pursued his medical education at the graduate and post graduate level at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. He has worked for 21 years at R P Centre, AIIMS as Additional Professor, Associate Professor, Asst. Professor, Senior Resident/ Registrar and Junior Resident. Apart from Centre for Sight, he is also working presently as Vitreoretinal surgeon with Apollo Hospitals. His areas of specialization include Vitreous & Retinal Surgery, Endophthalmitis, Laser Surgery, FA, ICG, ARMD, Intravitreal Injections, PDT, TTT, etc.

He has been Invited Speaker in numerous Workshops/Instruction Courses and has presented papers in various conferences and workshops in India and abroad. He has several publications in International (Including those in Archives of Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology, JJO, IRSM, Ophthalmic Surgery, Retina etc.), National and State indexed and non-indexed journals to his credit. Dr. Verma has authored A Manual of Fluorescein Angiography + Book on Intravitreal Injections, CME Series of AIOS (on Endophthalmitis; Uveitis) and 41 Chapters in different National & International books on Ophthalmology and has undertaken 38 research projects and theses.

He has received numerous awards and distinctions for his contribution to Ophthalmology in India and abroad. He has received Best Resident Ophthalmology (1989), Dr. R.P. Centre, AIIMS; Gold Medal – Ophthalmology (1981-82), AIIMS; Best Academic Group (1983), Dr. R.P. Centre, AIIMS; A.C. He has held many prestigious office bearer positions like DOS: Executive Member,1993-95;  Treasurer,1995-97;Secretary, DOS, 1997-99; President :2007-08, AIOS: Joint Secretary,1999-2002; Member Scientific Committee:1999-2002; Treasurer,  2002-2005; 2005-2008, Secretary, AIOS , 2008-11; 2011-14 ; Chairman Scientific Committee : 2014-17; VRSI : Treasurer, Vitreo Retinal Society of India, 2003-2005; 2005-2007 and has been the organizing secretary of the 61st Annual Conference, AIOS, New Delhi; APAO-AIOS 2013, Hyderabad & DOS Conferences. He is the webmaster for AIOS website (www.aios.in) & VRSI website (www.vrsi.in). He actively participates in Community Work/CME activities.
