Dr. Leena Saju

Dr. Leena Saju is registered dietician working with Artemis hospital and heading the Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics Department. She has almost three decades experience in the field of nutrition and dietetics.

In the past, she was heading the Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics departments in various hospitals such as KIMS, Trivandrum & Cochin, VPS Lakeshore Hospital & Research Center, Cochin, VS medical college, Ahmedabad and Medical 

Initiated setting up the Obesity Clinic for dept of Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics at KIMS, Trivandrum & Cochin, whereby providing effective guidance to cope up with problem of increasing overweight and obesity.
Instrumental in setting up the Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics department at VPS Lakeshore Hospital & Research Centre and co-ordinating the nutritional care of the clients to sort out the adverse and undesirable effect owing to lifestyle changes
Monitored the effective functioning of diabetic clinic and conducted classes regarding health-related topics on various forums.

She has been actively contributing to the society through electronic & print media and has featured in various television talk shows on diet and nutrition by Doordarshan and on Asianet channel for a continuous period of one year during 2008-09. Also performed as Jury member of the first health reality show in Kerala “Fat Free Top Loser” a program on weight reduction in Asianet Channel. Developed cost effective and tolerant jejunostomy tube feeds and administered parenteral and enteral nutritional care for patients.
