Dr. Prem Prakash Varma is an alumnus of Maulana Azad Medical College and did his DM (Nephrology) from PGIMER, Chandigarh. He did Fellowship in
Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston), Emory Hospital (Atlanta) & Toronto General Hospital (Toronto). He has been honored with Fellowship of Indian College of Physicians, American College of Nephrology, Indian Society of Nephrology, American College of Physicians, Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) & National Academy of Medical Sciences. He has been actively involved in teaching graduate, post graduate and post-doctoral students. He superannuated from Indian Army after 37 years after attaining the rank of Lt General. He has been honored with ‘Ati Vishisht Seva Medal’, ‘Sena Medal”& “Vishisht Seva Medal’ by the President of India. He has contributed over 200 presentations, 60 published articles & 12 chapters in text books. He has been practicing medicine for last over 30 years & Nephrology for over 25 years. He has been associated with over 1000 Renal Transplants. He was awarded ‘NBE Alumnus Award’ for year 2014 for his outstanding contribution to Nephrology Community. He has been ‘Honorary Surgeon’ of The President of India.
