Dr Sirisha Kusuma B is a specialist in Pediatric Endocrinology. She received her medical degree (M.B.B.S.) from Andhra Medical College, Vishakhapatnam, and her M.D. in Pediatrics from the prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh. She underwent further training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the world-renowned Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada.
After returning to India, she practiced many years as a consultant pediatrician at Bangalore, during which time she developed a keen interest in managing children with endocrine problems. Dr Sirisha Kusuma completed her formal Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology and Diabetes from Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bangalore. She also acquired wider experience in the same field by doing an observership at Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne and was part of the fellow school conducted by APEG & APPES (Australasian and Asia Pacific Pediatric Endocrine societies) in Darwin, Australia.
She has publications in international journals to her credit and presented posters and papers in endocrine conferences. She is a member of ISPAE (Indian Society of pediatric and adolescent endocrinology), ES (Endocrine society), APPES ( Asia pacific pediatric endocrine society) and IAP (Indian Academy of pediatrics)
She is experienced in managing children with short stature, precocious or delayed puberty, adrenal disorders, disorders of bone-mineral metabolism, thyroid and parathyroid problems, Pituitary disorders, disorders of sexual differentiation (DSD), obesity and Diabetes, chronic corticosteroid usage, and endocrine disorders in chronic systemic illness like cancer and thalassemia etc.
Her special areas of interest are Growth, Puberty and, Adrenal disorders
