Dr. Sumit Monga has completed his clinical fellowship and clinical associate-ship in Pediatric ophthalmology, Strabismus and Neuro-ophthalmology from the prestigious LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Hyderabad, India (2010-12). The latter is a WHO collaborating centre for prevention of blindness. His areas of keen interest are pediatric cataract, strabismus syndromes, visually inattentive children, amblyopia, pediatric
genetic eye diseases and neuro-opthalmogical disorders. He completed his basic and higher specialty training (Residency and Registrar ship respectively) from Guru Nanak Eye Centre, Maulana Azad Medical College, which is a reputed 200- bedded public eye care institution in New Delhi, India (2000-06). His rigorous residency training enabled him to imbibe the basic tenets of ophthalmology in general and pediatric ophthalmology in particular. He is a triple postgraduate in ophthalmology, having successfully completed his MS Ophthalmology (Delhi University, 2003) , DNB (National board of Examination, 2005 ) and FRCS (Glasgow, United Kingdom, 2005) examinations. Earlier, he worked as a consultant, pediatric ophthalmology at Shroff Eye Centre, New Delhi (2007-10) and Vasan eye care hospitals, Delhi (2012-2015). He has several
publications in various peer-reviewed international journals to his credit and has penned book chapters in ophthalmology textbooks. He had the privilege of presenting scientific presentations at various forums, including international conferences and won several awards. He is currently working (since march 2015) as a Consultant, Pediatric, Squint and Neuro-ophthalmology Service
